Ficus Lyrata

The Ficus Lyrata has continued to be a much coveted plants for its beautiful gloss green leaves and minimalist lines. Ficus Lyrata leaves are prone to imperfections along the leaf edges and can be somewhat temperamental if not placed in an ideal growing location. This plant comes in a range of sizes from smaller plants to larger trees.

- Plant enthusiasts! This plant can be somewhat temperamental, without ideal growing conditions it is likely to shed its leaves.

General Care Instructions

Light: Ficus Lyrata do best in a bright, warm spot with filtered indirect light. The plant should not receive excessive direct sunlight as this may scorch the leaves. If the plant is against a wall, regular rotation will allow all sides of the plant to receive even sunlight and promote even growth.

Water: Allow the top 3-5cm of soil to dry before watering but do not let the potting medium to go completely dry. Infrequent watering (about once a week) is ideal for this plant. The plant will not tolerate overwatered soil.

Notes: This plant will not tolerate a drafty or cold location. Keep it away from any AC drafts!! It is helpful to mist the plant and wipe down the leaves regularly. Your Ficus Lyrata plant may show brown spots on the foliage or drop it's leaves. Both of these characteristics are natural and are apart of a normal maturing plant as long it is not happening in abundance.
